On Zero Discrimination Day, Bedayati calls for equal rights, opportunities and treatment at work. Our Inclusive Employer Pledge, which has been signed by some leading equal opportunity employers in Lebanon, calls for fair recruitment practices without discrimination based on personal characteristics, including gender, disability, religion or socioeconomic status.

Bedayati’s slogan “Widen the Circle” is an invitation to create an inclusive economy and world of work, where everyone has the opportunity to participate and make a difference. It was inspired by Albert Einstein when he said, “A human being is part of a whole… He experiences himself… as something separated from the rest — a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circles of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature.”

At Bedayati we believe that to act on inclusion we must widen the circle. For us to achieve zero discrimination, we have to reach the place where to quote Gregory Boyle, “there is no longer us and them, it’s only us. [For] The measure of your compassion lies not in your service of those on the margin, but in your willingness to see yourself in kinship with them.”
