Ghia came face to face with the multiple dimensions of poverty and social exclusion when working with stateless and other marginalized populations in Lebanon. It was this encounter that first inspired Bedayati’s mandate to build a more inclusive economy and society that works for everyone. Bedayati’s slogan “widen the circle” is an invitation to reshuffle and make room for the “other.”

Ghia is a researcher and policy consultant with expertise in education, skills, and employability. She has over 15 years of experience in education and development, having worked with various international organizations, academic institutes, and local and international NGOs in Beirut and New York.

Ghia has a PhD in Education from the University of Oxford (DPhil, 2017), and has also studied at Columbia University (MIA, 2005) and the American University of Beirut (BA, 2003).
