Evidence suggests that soft skills are more important than technical skills on the first job. That is why our Job Readiness Program focuses on introducing youth who have struggled with education and employment to the core employability skills necessary for success at work. This week’s job readiness session was led by Bassam Yammine, a finance and real estate expert, who shared his own career trajectory and led mock interviews with Bedayati students.

If Bassam had to summarize success in just five words, his would be: hunger for work, skills mastery, persistence, curiosity and the ability to see and seize opportunities. When leading professionals from the private sector share their journey and expertise in this way, their intervention helps inspire youth to get back on track and imagine a different vision for the future.
